Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, a city rich in history, culture and beautiful architecture.
In its winding cobbled streets there are numerous important buildings making it one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
Edinburgh is divided into the old and new town. The old town is the true medieval old town while the new town is built mostly in the neoclassical style.
One of the most beautiful and famous streets in Edinburgh is Victoria Street. It was built between 1829 and 1834 to connect the square of Grassmarket and the medieval area of the center. Initially called Bow Street, it was renamed after the coronation of Queen Victoria.
Victoria Street also became very famous thanks to the literary saga of Harry Potter where it was taken as inspiration. Today along the street there are numerous shops dedicated to the saga
Another iconic place in Edinburgh is the Dean Village. Located on the bank of the Leith stream, not far from the center, grinding took place here thanks to water mills.
