Andorra is located in southwestern Europe, in the heart of the Eastern Pyrenees. The country borders Spain (autonomous community of Catalonia) and France.
With an area of almost 470km2 it is a microstate.
The country is divided into 7 administrative entities called “parishes”.
The capital of the principality is Andorra la Vella.
The official language is Catalan while the currency is the Euro.
The heads of state (co-princes) of Andorra are the President of the French Republic and the Bishop of Urgell (region of Catalonia). This configuration is a legacy of the feudal system that, even today, the country has in relation to the two neighboring states.
