
Tournus is a small town in central-eastern France. Located in the Burgundy region, in the Saône-et-Loire department.
The symbolic monument of the city is the Abbey of Saint-Philibert.
The Abbey of Saint-Philibert in Tournus is one of the most important Romanesque monuments in France and was declared a National Monument in 1840.
Built at the end of the eleventh century in basilica style with three naves, it has two massive towers on the façade.
The Abbey consists of a set of sanctuaries divided into three levels: the crypt, the large church and an upper church.
