The Monastery winery is located in the village of Openica, almost 10 km from Ohrid.
It was founded in 2019 and since then, around 10,000 bottles of wine have been produced annually.
Red, white and even rosé wines are produced in this winery. Traditional brandy is also produced.
The Ohrid region is excellent for growing vines due to its mild climate.
Wines from cool climates have a high acidity and a lower alcohol content.
Once inside you will find the cellar where the wines are put into barrels for fermentation. There are both wooden barrels and the most modern stainless-steel barrels.
In another room there is the distiller for the production of traditional brandy.
Upstairs is the tasting room with a balcony and a beautiful view.
Near the winery is the monastery of Saints Cosmas and Damian.
