The Allianz Arena is certainly one of the most beautiful and modern in all of Europe. It was inaugurated on May 30, 2005 after 3 years of work.
It is located just 10 km from the center of Munich and can be reached in just 15 minutes by road.
The Allianz Arena is home to the matches of the two Munich teams, namely Bayern Munich and Munich 1860 (in 2017 moved back to the Grunwalder Stadion) and also some matches of the German national team.
The outer cover of the stadium is called a “shell” and consists of more than 2,000 panels of Efte, a special diamond-shaped plastic material. Each of these panels can be illuminated individually with different colors in fact, you can get three colors depending on the team playing at home.
It lights up red when Bayern Munich plays, blue when Munich 1860 plays while when the German national team plays it is colored white.
The visit to the stadium can only be made with a guide in English or German.
The meeting point for the visit is directly inside the stadium. To access you go through the turnstiles that, on days when there are no matches, are always open.At the end of the visit you can also access the Museum. Here you will find the whole history of Bayern Munich and the history of the champions who over the years have made this club important. The awards, trophies, cups and above all the Champions League won by the Bavarian club are on display.
