The Pyramid of Hoxha is one of the symbolic “monuments” of Tirana.
A building, now in a state of decay and covered with graffiti, which tells the political story of a country that has seen a succession of very different powers.
Opened in 1988, the building was conceived as a real memorial mausoleum of Enver Hoxha.
It is still an absolutely imposing building, built on a series of platforms and stairs that almost take on the appearance of a pedestal that supports the pyramid.
It was probably the most expensive structure that has ever been built in Albania.
