The Skyway (Mont Blanc Cable Car) is the large cable car system that starts near Courmayeur and reaches 3466 meters of Punta Helbronner, in the Mont Blanc massif.
The totally restored facility was inaugurated in 2015 and today includes 3 stations: Courmayeur/The Valley (1,300 m), Pavillon/The Mountain (2,173 m) and Punta Helbronner/The Sky (3,466 m).
In the pavillon station, at 2,173 meters above sea level, the mountain presents itself in all its beauty with breathtaking views and unspoiled nature.
Inside the Pavillon station there are dining areas such as the Alpino restaurant.
Absolutely not to be missed is the Hangar 2173 in the premises of the old station where the history of the cable cars is located.
In the summer outside the Pavillon there is the Saussurea Botanical Garden with its 900 species from all over the world and, in winter, the Snowshoe Camp for an unforgettable walk in the snow.
Once you reach the third Helbronner/The Sky station, you will actually become part of the landscape around you.
Going up to the panoramic terrace at 3,466 meters you will have a 360° view of the Alps. From the Terrace you can enjoy a unique view of the entire Alpine arc where you can admire the top of Mont Blanc and the Giant’s Tooth up close while in the distance the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso.
Inside is LaFeltrinelli, the highest bookshop in Europe and the Bistrot Panoramic for a lunch break at high altitude.
Already nicknamed the eighth wonder of the world, the brand new Skyway Mont Blanc cable car in a few minutes will take you to the roof of Europe.
The departure of the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car is in Pontal, near Entrèves, about one kilometer from the entrance of the Mont Blanc tunnel, along the SS26.
