Located on the island of Djurgården, in the heart of Stockholm, the Skansen is the oldest open-air museum in the world.
This place is one of the most loved and visited in all of Sweden, inside there are numerous points of interest involving both adults and children.
Opened on 11th October 1891, the Skansen covers an area of over 300,000 square meters and inside you can discover the history and culture of Sweden from 1700 onwards.
Inside there are reproductions of Swedish houses and businesses of the past, the works of the time and many other curiosities.
In addition to this, there is also an entire section dedicated to animals with an open-air zoo that houses numerous species of Nordic fauna.
